OUR FUEL INJECTOR CLEANING PROCEDURE
We offer a postal cleaning service for most petrol engine fuel injectors. Both rail and hose mounted top feed injectors, side feed injectors, GDI fuel injectors, SPI fuel injectors and marine engine fuel injectors. Flow X are are one of the most experienced users of the ASNU system in the UK. ASNU are manufacturers of the world-leading Gasoline Injector Diagnostic Testing & Servicing System.
The Flow X petrol fuel injector cleaning service involves flow testing, ultrasonic cleaning and re-flow testing, as follows:
- Micro filter, O-ring seals and pintle caps removed – and replaced where possible.
- Check all fuel injectors share the same part number.
- Check each fuel injector has the same coil resistance.
- Fuel injectors are mounted onto flow bench and leak test performed. (30 seconds@5 bar).
- Flow rate testing at either 2 or 3 bar pressure, 50% duty cycle for 30 seconds.
- Check spray patterns in a static (wide open) mode.
- Check spray patterns in dynamic (pulsed) mode at a set open duration and speed.
- Fuel injectors are placed into the ultra-sonic cleaning tank for a minimum of 30 minutes.
- During this time the fuel injectors are also electrically pulsed.
- Filters, O-rings and pintle caps that were removed are renewed, if available / stocked.
- Leak, flow test and spray pattern checks are performed again.
- The fuel injectors are placed into numbered bags and a standard report issued.

RACE ENGINE FUEL INJECTORS
Race engine fuel injectors, whether it’s circuit or drag racing, spend a large proportion of their duty in the upper RPM range. Therefore, the fuel injector is a crucial and integral part of the engine’s performance. At such high RPM, even the slightest issue or deviation from its programmed operation could cost you the race, or worse.
Depending on the duty requirements of the fuel injector we recommend a clean and a full range-test at a minimum, once per season. But for ultra, high-performance applications we can offer a full programme of pre-race testing.
We can replicate almost any engine / cars data. For example, engines RPM, voltage, fuel used, fuel pressure or duty cycle.

MARINE ENGINE FUEL INJECTORS
Problems with your boat not starting, rough idling or RPM surges – then it maybe time to get your marine fuel injectors cleaned! The Flow X fuel injector service (cleaning, calibration and / or repair) should be done every 200-300 engine-run-time / hours, or every 2-3 years. We offer a complete marine fuel injector cleaning and testing service, for your marine engine fuel injectors.

PERFORMANCE ENGINE FUEL INJECTORS
Clean fuel injectors are paramount for top engine performance, fuel economy and engine emissions. If your fuel injectors are clogged and dirty, they cannot deliver a normal dose of fuel and performance, economy and engine emissions are all affected.
Dirty fuel injectors cannot flow as much fuel as clean injectors, which means they are unable to deliver the optimum spray pattern – important for effective engine combustion and horsepower.
In high performance engine applications its very important to maintain, and keep, engines in balance. It is recommended to clean the fuel injectors every 25,000 to 30,000 miles, to keep them flowing at optimum performance.
